Best Computers for Trading

Sep 12, 2023

Whenever you're trading, looking at multiple charts with studies/indicators (not even algorithms) you need a decent computer to process all of that constantly moving data.

Thinkorswim recommends a CPU with at least an Intel i3 to i5 processor and a graphics card with at least 8GB of ram. This is like saying all you need to do a race is a car. Sure, you can make it around the track but you're going to be late.

If you want to have TRUE real-time price data without any lag, observe multiple charts with multiple monitors and most importantly run our algorithms which analyze 14 studies and indicators, 11 technical price charts and 9 timeframes to let us know which stocks to trade, when to trade them and get super-fast signals with absolutely no lag you want to have a computer that can handle the task.

Your computer is made up of two main components.

1. Your CPU (central processing unit)- the brain of the computer, which is required to process all of the data (the faster your brain, the faster your signals)

and

2. Your GPU (graphics processing unit) - which is how the brain relates its information to you on screen. The GPU is responsible for telling you what the brain is thinking on your monitor, so you want to make sure it can keep us as well.

In order to trade efficiently and never have to worry about computer lag you're going to want a computer with at least an i7 processor but in all honesty, an Intel I9 is the way to go. To ensure that your computer displays everything for you on screen without any delay you should look to get an RTX 3070 GPU or better.

I used to have a top-of-the-line Apple iMac for trading but found my current setup to be far superior, so I turned that computer into my home computer. They may have improved since the release of the M2 chip but in my honest opinion Apple computers are way overpriced for trading setups. My current setup was half the price of my iMac and significantly outperforms that computer when I run my algorithms on multiple monitors. The delay is not negligible.

There are tons of standard builds from Dell, Acer, or even Apple which can get the job done but if you really want a computer that will give you the most bang for your buck and not disappoint, I highly recommend one of these desktops by Computer Upgrade King Store. This is the Best Computer On The Market.

With the latest Intel i9 processor and Nvidia 4080 graphics card and 2TB of storage this beast will outperform just about every computer on the market giving you the smoothest trading experience possible. This computer can be used with up to 4 screens and 24 charts using our algorithms.

If you want to save a little money but still want to make sure your computer does everything you need to make trading as seamless and effective as possible, I'd recommend looking into this slightly lesser model also by Computer Upgrade King Store. This is All The Computer You'll Ever Need.

That one looks like this:

This one also has an Intel i9 processor but it’s not the newest quickest version. For most purposes that won’t really matter it is plenty fast enough. This computer also has Nvidia’s new RTX 4070 GPU which is the upgrade from the 3070 series. This computer will work very well with up to 2 monitors and 12 charts with our algorithms.

Hope this helps and if you have any questions about the hardware, please feel free to comment below.
